This coin is the cousin of a DMPL coin (1883cc DMPL with an OGH) that we recently handled.
The 1883-CC Morgan Dollar is a highly sought-after 90% silver coin from the legendary Carson City Mint. Despite an original mintage of just 1,204,000, millions of uncirculated pieces were preserved in U.S. Treasury vaults. Today, it is one of the most readily available and reasonably priced Carson City issues.

- Metal Content: (0.7734) troy ounces of (.900) fine silver
- Design: Designed by George T. Morgan, featuring Lady Liberty on the obverse and an American heraldic eagle on the reverse. The "CC" mint mark sits just beneath the eagle's tail feathers.
- Market Availability: Due to massive Treasury hoards, it is common in almost all Mint State grades (such as MS63 to MS65). Prooflike and Deep Mirror Prooflike (DMPL) examples are much scarcer and command a premium.
